Everett is a busy city, and the drive tells you everything about the cars here. You’ve got I-5 bringing highway grime from both directions, the Boeing Freeway (Hwy 526) packing in the commuter traffic, and the salty air off Puget Sound testing your clear coat all year long.

There aren’t many detail shops that respect your time. Most people are driving out of their way and dropping their car off for the whole day. I’m Mikey, I come to you. I'm up and down the Everett corridor constantly. That means better availability for Everett clients and no travel upcharge. Lifted trucks, family rigs hauling kids to Silver Lake, work trucks coming off a job site near the marina, over 300 cars in 5+ years. If it got dirty in Snohomish County, I’ve cleaned it.

Salt air is the part people here underestimate. Everett sits on the water, and a car parked within a few blocks of Port Gardner picks up a fine salt film that ordinary washing leaves behind, because it bonds rather than sits on top. Left alone through a winter it dulls the clear coat and starts working on brake hardware and trim clips. Decontamination and a sealant are what actually deal with it, and they're what I lead with on coastal-side Everett cars.

The other thing that shapes work here is shift schedules. A lot of Everett is on Boeing or Naval Station hours, which means the car is in the driveway at times that suit nobody's shop. That's the case for mobile more than convenience: leave the keys, tell me where the spigot is, and get the car back done before your next shift. You don't need to be home and I'll text you photos when I finish.

Rail dust is the Everett problem most people have never heard of. The BNSF line runs along the waterfront and out through Lowell, and freight train brakes throw off fine iron that settles on anything parked near the tracks and rusts in place. On white and silver paint it shows up as tiny orange specks that a wash won't touch and you can feel with a fingertip. An iron remover dissolves it, and it's the first thing I check for on a light-colored car from north Everett or Lowell.

If you're at Naval Station Everett and the car is about to sit through a deployment, get it detailed before you go rather than after. A car parked for months grows moss in the window seals, lets bird droppings etch into the clear coat, and a closed-up interior can come back smelling of mildew. Clean and sealed going in, it comes back needing a wash.

Parking is the one thing worth checking before you book. Houses off Broadway and up toward South Forest Park are straightforward. Apartments around downtown and Everett Mall Way usually work if you have a dedicated stall and building management is fine with it, but I do need an outdoor spigot and an outlet I can reach.
