Detailing in the Stilly Valley
Arlington is the far end of my week. I take SR-9 north out of Snohomish, past Lake Stevens, and it's about half an hour to Old Town. If you've ever ridden the Centennial Trail, you know the route: it starts in Snohomish and runs north through Arlington toward the Skagit County line.
I'm Mikey. I'm in Arlington most weeks, I bring everything I need to your driveway except the water and the power, and the price is the same here as it is in Snohomish. The extra miles are mine to drive, so there's no travel fee.
A lot of 98223 is still farm and acreage: dairies and hay ground in the valley along the Stillaguamish, gravel driveways up in the hills, and county roads that turn to mud from October on. Farm-road mud isn't just dirt. It packs into the wheel wells and along the bottom of the doors, and once it dries it's gritty enough to scratch the paint if somebody wipes it off dry. So the heavy stuff comes off with water before a wash mitt ever touches the car. That's how every exterior I do starts.
Arlington also works for a living. The airport business park, the Cascade Industrial Center around it, the Amazon building at Smokey Point, and a lot of trades who live here and drive to jobs all over the county. So I do a lot of work trucks: drywall dust, sawdust, metal shavings ground into the carpet, coffee in the cupholders, a year of receipts in every door pocket. That's fine. Take the tools out and leave the mess. If it's really rough, the condition step on the quote covers it, and you see that price before you book, not as a surprise after.
Smokey Point is the other half of town: newer houses and apartments around 172nd and Smokey Point Boulevard, and a lot of people who drive I-5 to Everett and back every day. That much freeway leaves a gray road film on the paint that the rain doesn't touch, and a haze on the inside of the windshield that the defroster can't clear. Interior glass is part of every interior I do. It's one of the things you notice right away once it's gone.
Gleneagle is the biggest single neighborhood in town, more than a thousand homes, and like most planned neighborhoods it has an HOA. If yours has rules about work in driveways, tell me when you book and I'll work to them. Same with townhomes and apartments anywhere in town: the spigot and the outlet are the things to check first.
Then there's the weather. Old Town sits on a bluff above the spot where the two forks of the Stillaguamish meet, up against the foothills, and Arlington gets around 46 inches of rain a year. Fall and winter mean valley fog, frosty mornings and a lot of wet boots on the carpet. Floor mats that never dry out are where the musty smell in a car comes from, and the fix is pulling the mats, extracting the carpet and letting it dry properly, not another air freshener. And if a car has actually sat in floodwater from the river, call your insurance before you call me. That's a different job from a detail.
Up 530 toward Oso and Darrington it's rivers and trailheads: people fishing the Stilly, hunting in the fall, hiking in the summer, and trucks that come home with a season of it in the bed and the footwells. I see a lot of those. No judgment at all.
I work weekday afternoons and Saturdays. You don't need to be home: leave the keys, tell me where the spigot and outlet are, and the car's done when you get back.
Every Part of Arlington

Old Town & Olympic Avenue
Downtown on the bluff above where the two forks meet. Older houses and tighter driveways, so tell me where the car can sit.
Smokey Point
Around I-5 and 172nd. Newer houses, apartments, and commuters with a gray film of freeway spray on the paint.
Gleneagle
More than a thousand homes in one planned neighborhood. HOA rules, family SUVs and the school run.
Kent Prairie
The streets south of downtown. Houses with driveways that have room to work.
Arlington Heights
Up in the hills east of town. Acreage, gravel drives, barns, and trucks that haul hay.
The Valley & Island Crossing
The Stillaguamish flats where 530 meets I-5. Dairies, hay fields, and roads that flood in a big winter.

The same services I offer everywhere, with the steps a farm-and-freeway town actually needs.
Rinse before the mitt
Farm mud is gritty. The heavy stuff comes off with water first, so nothing gets dragged across the paint.

Take the tools out and leave the mess. Sawdust, drywall dust and old coffee are normal.
Interior glass included
The haze on the inside of the windshield that the defroster can't clear comes off with every interior.
Musty smells, fixed at the source
Wet carpet gets extracted and dried, not covered up with a fragrance.

Usually. A musty smell almost always comes from carpet or mats that got wet and never fully dried. I extract the carpet and let it dry, which takes the smell out at the source. If water is still getting in, it comes back, so I'll tell you what I find.
Yes. I need an outdoor water spigot and a power outlet I can reach from where the vehicle is parked. Gravel is fine. If the closest ones are at the shop or the barn, the truck can come to them.
A full detail takes 3–5 hours depending on the size and condition of the car. A basic interior is about 90 minutes, or 2–4 hours with extraction or heavy pet hair. Here's how long car detailing takes, package by package.
No. Leave the keys and tell me where the spigot and outlet are. You pay after the work is done, never a deposit.
